This year, the Jawor-Parkiet Design Awards competition was held for the seventh time. Year after year, it is attracting increasing interest among architects and designers, as evidenced by the impressive number of entries. Over the years, it has gained prestige as a platform for nationwide competition, the presentation of individual design styles, and self-promotion.
The jury for the 7th edition of the competition, composed of Ewa Dyda-Nowakowska, interior designer and founder of the Instagram platform "Przyjaciółki-Projektantki," Maciej Dańczura, CEO & Head Trainer of CAD Decor Studio, Grzegorz Sadowski, Marketing Director, and Sebastian Sklepik, Chief Architect Officer (CAO), awarded two main prizes of PLN 10,000 and four honorable mentions.
The main prize in the "Realization" category went to Miłosława Gulbinowicz for her work "Apartment in Praga" featuring FertigDeska Chevron Oak Color Bianco flooring.
The apartment is characterized by a warm and very positive design with original elements and colors. The chevron-patterned flooring significantly harmonizes with the entire interior, giving it character and cohesion. In line with the design brief, it adds class and character.
The main prize in the "Project" category went to Adam Dolny for his work "Warmth Enchanted in Wood" featuring FertigDeska Maxi Oak Color Caldo flooring.
This room is a fairytale haven where every detail tells a story of a child's imagination. It is a space of woven magic – warm, safe, and full of subtle accents. The key element here is the wooden planks – majestic, noble, and fragrant with nature. Their delicate grain and warm tone create the perfect backdrop for everyday adventures and nighttime stories. Curtains, forest accents, and hand-painted walls, draped in soft light, create the illusion of an enchanted world—as if the room sprang from a child's dreams. Rounded shapes, natural fabrics, and soft pillows complete the overall design. All designed to allow children to dream and grow in peace, harmony, and beauty. It's not just an interior: it's an emotion, a childhood memory that stays with us forever.
Honorable mentions:
Anna Sokołowska for her project "Nadmotławie: Living and Dining Area" with Zero Waste Organic Oak flooring
A holiday apartment in Gdańsk with a beautiful view of the Motława River. This unique interior features reclaimed wood furniture. It was created for a couple from the Tatra Mountains, for whom natural wood, with its imperfections and beautiful color, was the foundation for the overall design. The scent of wood, its texture, and its natural aging are the essence of this interior. The lounge and dining area is decorated in warm colors, cozy materials, and creates an atmosphere you'll want to return to.
Karolina Michałkiewicz-Kasina for the project "Monochromatic Story - Green Accompanied by Wood" with FertigDeska Oak Color Nero flooring.
The living room interior concept is based on monochromatic shades of green – a color symbolizing balance, harmony, and closeness to nature. The exposed wooden floorboards on the walls and floor "tell" the story of the space and lend the interior an authentic feel. The juxtaposition of cool, saturated greens with the warm tones of dark wood creates a subtle dialogue between nature and time. The remaining furnishings – furniture, textiles, wallpaper, and accessories – were chosen so as not to compete with the wooden flooring, but rather to support its role and emphasize its presence. Oval and rounded shapes lend this interior a softness similar to that experienced in nature. This living room design is an attempt to demonstrate that monochromatic interiors aren't boring, but rather a nod to the appreciation of details, textures, and connections that shape a space.
Magda Jońca for the "Harmony of Form and Color" project with Design Experience Maxi Oak Elegance flooring
This interior is a harmonious blend of mid-century modern style with a touch of contemporary minimalism. The focal point of the living room is a soft, velvet sofa in a vibrant green, which contrasts with a geometric coffee table on marble bases. A wall featuring a wooden shelving unit adds warmth and functionality, while carefully selected prints and paintings add an artistic touch. Large windows provide natural light, highlighting the structure of the herringbone wooden floor. The dining space, visible in the background, accented by the turquoise staircase, creates a distinctive composition.
Adam Dolny for the "Harmony Enchanted in Herringbone" project featuring FertigDeska Chevron Oak Color Caldo flooring
This bedroom is the essence of tranquility, timeless elegance, and subtle sensuality. The design is based on a harmonious combination of natural materials, soft forms, and refined details. The wooden floors, arranged in a French herringbone pattern, bring rhythm, refinement, and architectural depth to the interior. The delicate play of light on the precisely laid boards creates an atmosphere of warmth and sophistication, emphasizing coziness.
