Jawor-Parkiet Design Awards Handed out in Milan

Golden Eight
The organizer of the competition invited eight finalists of the competition to Milan. On 13-16 March, Made Expo 2019 was held there, the true celebration of design, the international fair of architecture and building industry. The creativity of architects presented in entered designs needed a proper setting; therefore, the selection of the place for the award ceremony was very important.

Ceresio 7 and Just Cavalli Milano
The award ceremony was held at a designer location – Ceresio 7 restaurant. Located on the fourth floor of the historic ENEL palace, it combines the use of copper, marble, wood, and vintage colours. The view of Milan is made complete with superb cuisine, being the reinterpretation of Italian classics with modern accents straight from the Michelin Guide.
In such extraordinary circumstances, the management of Jawor-Parkiet handed out awards and distinctions. As Janusz Gawiński, Managing Director of Jawor-Parkiet, emphasized Contestants were anonymous to jurors who assessed their works. Therefore, they could only see a design there and then, without referring to any earlier achievements of designers or their names. As a consequence, our competition was won by young people, new to the designing community. This fresh look at design is very important for us. The idea of the competition also worked out. We wanted to support those who start their careers in the sector and to be an ambassador of design on a high level.
Winners of Jawor-Parkiet Design Awards stressed that it gave them a chance to present themselves to the industry, show their frequently new look at the issue of interior design, and make new business relationships.
After the award ceremony, everyone could celebrate their victory in the fashionable Just Cavalli cor.

Made Expo 2019
Winners of Jawor-Parkiet Design Awards had also an opportunity to visit the Made Expo 2019 fair. It is the most important commercial event in Italy for the world of construction and architecture. More than 900 exhibitors present global trends, and more than one hundred thousand guests from the sector visit the fair. Winners of Jawor-Parkiet Design Awards could see state-of-the-art solutions in technology and interior design.
Competition and Milan Equal Inspiration
As all the finalists of the competition present in Milan highlighted, both winning the Jawor-Parkiet Design Awards and the visit to such an architecturally marvellous site gave them a boost and was the source of new inspirations.
Organisers of the competition would like to thank contestants once more for their participation and wish them all success in their careers.
